After traversing the seven seas it’s time for cheddar cheese. Thankfully Pret A Manger serves up a very British sandwich that’s fit for the Queen. Filled with mature cheddar, Pret pickle, tomatoes, red onion, salad leaves and mayo, it’s certainly a sarnie to savour.

Plate #18: Smoked salmon and caviar (Russia)
The journey ends with one last indulgence – from Russia with love – at Caviar House & Prunier. The regally titled ‘Tsarina’ is pure luxury on a plate: a blini topped with smetana (Russian sour cream), a layer of Balik smoked salmon and crowned with 10g of Prunier caviar.
