Hit the open road with a stash of sweet treats on the nation's 150th anniversary

Canada Day is always a special occasion but this year’s event is particularly momentous: July 1 2017 marks the nation’s 150th birthday. Here are three good reasons to visit the world’s second largest country.

1: You’ll be at one with nature

We’ve all heard of Niagara Falls, the legendary waterfall on the Canada-US border, but did you know that Canada has over two million lakes?

It’s also the land of forests, with 10% of the world’s total tree coverage.

2: It’s perfect for a road trip

Petrol heads are in for a treat, with exhilarating open roads passing through breathtaking surroundings. The Trans-Canada Highway stretches over 8,000km from Newfoundland on the eastern coast to British Columbia on the western shores.

3: You’ll always feel sweet

Those with a sweet tooth will never be far from getting their next sugar rush. It may be famous for maple syrup, but did you know that Canada has more doughnut shops than any other country?!

Getting there

From Dubai International, there are six return flights a week to Toronto with Air Canada and Emirates.
