With 550 weekly return flights between DXB and India, it's never been easier to explore the subcontinent

For centuries, the Gulf region has held strong ties with India and today, the majority of Dubai’s expatriate population hails from the subcontinent.

This close relationship has lead to superb connections, with around 550 return flights a week between Dubai and India via seven different airlines. In fact, India is Dubai’s biggest destination market, with 11.4 million passengers travelling to and from DXB in 2016.

Thanks to new services from Spice Jet, Jet Airways, Air India and other carriers, it’s never been easier to reach the land that Mark Twain described as “the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend and the great grand mother of tradition.”

DXB connects to 19 destinations across India. Here are four for starters.

Amritsar

With its majestic Golden Temple, the spiritual and cultural home of the Sikh religion, Amritsar welcomes more visitors per year than the Taj Mahal.

Fly there: Air India Express flies daily from DXB to Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International.
